You should try the 30days free online training that adobe is offering in partnership with TotalTraining. Among Flex video tutorial, others can be viewed. ;)

Thanks vamapaull, but thats a bummer however, maybe I can figure out the AS2 equivalent code :? ?

(I know AS3 is faster, more efficient yada yada, I'm just not there yet  )

Thanks again!

That would be nice, however, Papervision only works with AS3 as the engine itself is built in AS3 and unfortunately AS3 is not backwards-compatible.

Well actually Papervision works with....
http://blog.papervision3d.org/2007/07/07/papervision3d-public-beta/
Everybody is welcome to download and start playing with it. We believe you will find it very easy to use and to integrate into your Flash 8, Flash CS3 and Flex projects.

There are AS2 Docs:
http://papervision3d.googlecode.com/svn ... index.html
AS2 Source:
http://papervision3d.googlecode.com/svn ... trunk/src/

But I think it all might be old and might be incomplete, there used to be AS2 on the actual download page I thought?? ..... is there only an AS3 version being supported at this point??

Someone know furhter ??

Papervision does work indeed with both AS2 and AS3 but AS 2 version is not developed for quite a while and wont be developed anymore...

Well. I think no.

You need to understand AS2 before AS3. If you understand AS2 well, it will make AS3, which is a pretty big jump a breeze. You'll also understand the bits that would seem pointless like listeners.

I'm with Tool and Blue here. If you want to start learning AS3, then do it. You don't need to learn AS2 just to learn AS3. As a matter of fact, it may even be more confusing if you did. However, I wouldn't recommend that you totally give up on AS2, though, as it's not a deprecated language yet. There is still a lot of work out there being done with AS2, and you'd be selling yourself short if you just gave up on it.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing...

im with you guys it's quite a scary concept working with AS2 for 3 years and then having to start again.

But if you start at AS3 then you're doing good.

No point learning AS2 now no more lee tutorials will be on AS2 i would guess, and it's much more powerful and faster being in AS3.

My 2 cents.

It really depends how your brain works, and what your learning techniques are.

there might be instances where you need to backtrack to be able to move forward, however imo AS3 isnt one of them.

Hmmm... I wish I could afford Flash CS3 so I could learn Actionscript 3 and be able to get something from the new GTAL tutorials :(
Could this be the end of Kenny 3000?
